The Future of Smart Trade
Why do some Traders have the habit of reading and monitoring reports, not only from the governments of their countries, but also from other countries that have a strong economy, and also from those that seem to be very promising for the future (like Brazil for example) .

And that's why world government planning is important to DP Word's operation and effectiveness. Interaction with government is crucial to our business. And if we talk about planning, there is no better example of sound government planning, like the United Arab Emirates.
And as an example of the many development plans in the United Arab Emirates, let's take the example of Dubai. United Arab Emirates ranks as the 30th largest PIB in the world. In 1971, the PIB of the United Arab Emirates was two billion dollars, today it is 400 billion dollars.
How did you get that? How did you reach this stage of development?
It was Planning. If we look at the 1970s until today, the seventies were marked by the construction of major infrastructures. At the same time, the United Arab Emirates trade union was announced in 1971, and huge constructions began all over the country, which became a construction site. 7 Ports were built, which have become very important for the development of the region. They realized the importance of trade to the United Arab Emirates. Because to be open to trade, they needed to develop ports, as it was the easiest way to get to the outside, and so the huge expansion began with Jabal Ali, with many other projects: schools, universities, health and so on.
And the 1970s was focused on construction and infrastructure, which helped the ports. And by the early 1980s they were already allowing trade with the world. Free zone in Jebel Ali and many other parts of the UAE. Already in the 1990s, it was the years of tourism, where the government decided that Dubai would be the focus of tourism, coming from all over the world, which eventually became one of the main source of resources of the time, This meant another gap for development , increasing the number of hotels, exports and imports. Data show that only in the 1990s, there were about 35,000 tourists arriving in Dubai, nowadays this mark has easily surpassed 17 million tourists. They would not have reached that level had they not planned and prepared the whole country. Already in the 2000s it was termed as e-government, where technology was already beginning to be deployed across the country, when His Highness announced e-government on a stage like this, many of us did not know what he meant.
Posted by DP WORD: '2010 on, it's smart government. Electronic government, you can contact the government, get processed oil transactions during office hours. Smart government is working 24/7. What does that mean for us? Today, we process over 19 million documents, whether at customs, port, free zone or airport. It's almost more than a million document every month. That's 50,000 document every day. It will be virtually impossible to process 50,000 documents every day without adopting state-of-the-art technologies. If we had not planned in advance, we would not have been able to handle such a burden. This is a very interesting picture. This photo is an artistic print made 40 years ago. When Sheik Rashid decided to build Jabal Ali, the contractors ... the consultant met with him before designing him, asking him "what do you want to build? What do we need to build? What do you expect?" And from their words, they draw this image. It's an interesting image for me because ... in 1985, when we wanted ... when the government announced the Zona Franca, I wanted more land, and I went to the government, to H.H.''
'' Sheikh Mohammed, and he said to me, "you can get as much desert as you want south of Sheikh Zayed Road." So I went to the county surveyors and went to the desert for maybe 4 hours, and I wanted to take as much land as I could. The next day, the council told me: "you can not go beyond a certain point, there is an airport there." And if you see this photo ... I do not know if it's clear to you, at the top you see a plane flying there; which are the Conchords, in fact, because at that time, the future was the Concorde, and the airport should be able to handle a Concord. 40 years ago! Also, interestingly, in this photo, there is a container port. It's the beginning of containerization, in fact. No one believed the cargo would go to containers, but 40 years ago we planned to have an airport and have a port for containers. Now ... I tried to argue with the government and Sheikh Mohammed that there is no airport, because I actually got a helicopter to see if there was an airport, and there was no airport.
But Sheikh Mohammed said, "No, we have an airport. It will be an airport." Here ... The Jebel Ali Free Zone and the port. Jebel Ali's free zone today accounts for as much as 20% of Dubai's PIB. In this photo, which is very interesting, you see the airport below and you see the Zona Franca and the harbor at the top and me.
So the way we process the data and do the planning according to the market, we know the demand and demand, we can always make a business work, if the History of how the Arab Emirates has invited you, I think it best to review their concepts.
And in the same way we can make use of all the data that the DP WORD collects and provides, we will be able to make our own businesses succeed.
